McLaren Announces kVisia Slipstream! Try it FREE for 30 days.
Deployable applications for the price of a typical scoping study.

§          Are you challenged upgrading your Documentum based applications?

§          Are your customized applications preventing you from enjoying the benefits of Documentum 5?

§          Would you prefer to build configurable XML applications once for use by both Desktop and Webtop users?

§          Do you want to take back control of your applications, configure them as your business processes change and migrate them easily in the future?

Answer YES to any of these questions then you’ll benefit from kVisia Slipstream.

kVisia Slipstream is a complete development environment to replace your customizations with a configurable product. For the cost of a typical scoping study, kVisia Slipstream provides all you need to define, build and test Document Lifecycle Applications for Documentum. kVisia Slipstream includes four kVisia Industry Process Server licenses – that drive your applications – for development, testing, validation and training, and a copy of kVisia Studio. kVisia Studio provides easy configuration of Document Lifecycle Applications via a drag and drop graphical user interface.

Document Lifecycle Applications manage complex documents and lifecycles and can be rapidly configured to reflect the changing business processes they support.

kVisia CADLink 4 – a completely revised product - coming soon

Following two successful beta programs, we will shortly be releasing a pre-certified release of CADLink 4. CADLink 4 is a completely re-engineered product that introduces a new architectural model. CADLink 4 brings new functionality, improved scalability, greater robustness and better performance.

Some of the key new functionality includes:

§          Support and certification for MicroStation Version 8 and 8.1

§          Support and certification for Documentum 5

§          Multiple session support for AutoCAD and MicroStation

§          Ability to switch docbase connections seamlessly

§          New and improved API for easier configuration

The FCS of CADLink 4 will be later in Q2. For information on evaluating the pre-certified release of this product, email Paul Cheetham, CADLink Product Manager.

CADLink support for AutoCAD® 2004

We are already working on the new update to support AutoCAD 2004. We will provide details on the availability of this update to CADLink shortly.

kVisia Client for Webtop – see a demo now
As announced in the previous ezine we are to provide kVisia Client support for Webtop. In early Q2 we will be releasing kVisia IPS 2.3 which will deliver the kVisia Consumer Client for Webtop. The kVisia Consumer Client for Webtop allows you to view documents and to see the properties dialog that is configured using kVisia Studio. The same XML configuration file drives the properties dialog on Desktop and Webtop; meaning one configuration replaces two customizations.  All the normal functionality in Documentum Webtop is also available.

View the online demonstration of the kVisia Consumer Webtop Client at our Information Download Center.

kVisia VueServer support for Webtop
As part of our ongoing support for Webtop, VueServer, our viewing, redlining and annotation tool, can now be fully integrated with the Documentum Webtop Client. VueServer supports the viewing and annotation of over 200 document types, without the need for the native application. It also allows AutoCAD and MicroStation drawings to be accessed directly from the Documentum Repository – handling all reference files.

kTransmit 1.2 Now Available
New functionality in kTransmit 1.2 includes scheduling and notification of overdue actions. This allows the coordinator to schedule due dates by which actions must be completed and send notifications and reminders when these dates are missed, speeding and controlling the overall review and approval process. Additional functionality with this release includes support for Lotus V5 and support for SQL Server 2000.

Just some of the new functionality included in kVisia Solo 5:

§          Windows 95 through to Windows XP support

§          Utilizes the standard Documentum Desktop via a standard ‘Send To Solo’ menu click

§          Allows the export of documents, cabinets, folders and virtual documents

§          Allows export to Solo direct from a Documentum query result

§          Includes OLE links support, scanning exported documents for any OLE links
