Aligning Engineering Content with Maintenance Plans – New Maximo Integration Delivered by SAIC

SAIC has developed an integration between Enterprise Engineer and MRO’s Maximo.  This integration allows Maximo users to leverage Enterprise Engineer’s strong engineering content management capabilities to gather the needed documents to perform a specific maintenance task.  The integration is delivered directly via the Maximo and Enterprise Engineer interfaces to reduce the learning curve and streamline user acceptance across the engineering and maintenance organizations.

Learn how you can bridge the gap between the engineering and maintenance teams in your shop by joining our upcoming webinar; “Bridging the Gap Between Engineering and Maintenance – Enterprise Engineer and Maximo Integration” on Tuesday, September 20, at 10:00 am CST.  This 60 minute session, lead by SAIC, will demonstrate the new Maximo integration and provide an open forum for you to learn more.

CADLink to Drawing Manager:  Time is running out!

Keeping your engineer’s output managed is as challenging today as it has ever been.  With new regulatory and compliance concerns it is time to upgrade your CADLink environment to Enterprise Engineer’s Drawing Manager.

Drawing Manager is a pre-configured enterprise drawing management application that manages drawings and all other types of engineering content and their lifecycles in line with industry best practice. It allows the design team to manage the entire engineering lifecycle and store and access drawings and their associated content securely in a Documentum or FileNet repository.

Drawing Manager provides CAD integration functionality for AutoCAD and MicroStation – such as title block synchronization, CAD reference file handling, associated and hybrid raster-vector handling – and extends this to provide configurable searching, drawing lifecycles, drawing templates, and pre-configured metadata mapping to title blocks.

The time to upgrade is now!

Support for CADLink ends on January 31st 2006.

DMec 2005 Show Roundup

August 10 - 11, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Last week McLaren Software took part in the second annual Document/Content Management Expo and Conference held in Malaysia. The event, run by newly signed Enterprise Engineer Partners, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, was well attended by oil and gas, utilities and EPC industry delegates.  The increased demand for specialized content and process management applications for engineering in the Asia Pacific market was evident with the overwhelming requests for demonstrations of the Enterprise Engineer suite on both the McLaren and Fuji Xerox stands.  McLaren not only had one of the busiest demo schedules at the show but also had a great turn out to the 2 sessions we presented at on the benefits of using Enterprise Engineer on the EMC Documentum platform.

During the 2 day event, Kuala Lumpur experienced some of the worst smog they’ve had in 10 years, caused by forest fires in Indonesia. A number of regional airports and schools were closed with the air pollution index reaching a hazardous level.  This however didn’t stop a great event taking place and all those who attended agreed that this year’s DMec was a big success!
